4-Person Player Draft

Player Draft

The 1996 Player Draft was held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Santa Monica on March 11, 1996.

The captains for each sponsor chose the players for their team in a typical draft format. The draft order was determined by previous year's team finish.

The men's league will have 4 teams, and the women's will have 5.

Draft Eligibility

Any athlete may enter his or her name into the 1996 Player Draft provided they fulfill at least one of the following criteria (proof may be required):

  1. Played for an NCAA collegiate team, division 2 or higher.
  2. Earned a "AAA" or "Open" sand volleyball rating from FOVA.
  3. Competed in international volleyball competition on the professional level.
  4. Competed for a national team.
  5. Competed on a professional sanctioned beach volleyball tour.

Tryouts

Athletes entered into the Player Draft may participate in a tryout where captains and coaches will be present to evaluate the draft pool. Participation in the tryout is not mandatory. Tryouts were held on the following dates:
