Team Norelco Captures Third Tourney of the Season
at the Bud Light Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament
in St. Paul, Minnesota

St. Paul, Minn., (July 7, 1996) - Wendy Stammer's (Portland, Ore./Louisiana State) 14 kills and one ace led Team Norelco to a 13-10 win over Team Discus Athletic as the nine minute rally clock expired at the championship of the Bud Light Pro Beach Volleyball event in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The win is Norelco's third tournament victory of the 1996 season, which tops all other women's teams in the league. For Discus Athletic, the second place finish is their second of the year.

Outside hitter, Katy Eldridge (Petaluma, Cal./Univ. of Pacific) recorded 10 kills and one block for Discus Athletic in the final.

Team Norelco collected $10,900 for the win, while Discus Athletic took home $9,100 for second.

Team Paul Mitchell, led by St. Paul, Minnesota native, Janet Cobbs finished in third place, collecting a $7,300 pay check. Team Nike and Team Sony Autosound finished in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Bud Light Pro Beach Volleyball League action will continue next weekend, July 12-14, as the men, who had this past weekend off, and the women converge on Huntington Beach, California. The women's final will be televised live by ESPN at 4 p.m. EST on Saturday.
