1997 AVP Qualifiers

PLAYER QUALIFICATION


Beach volleyball players can gain entrance into AVP Tour events through the following means:
  1. By team ranking based on the combined computer ranking of both players and the size of the tournament draw

  2. By earning a one year exemption by finishing in the top 48 players on the prior year's season ending computer ranking or by finishing in the top eight players on the prior year's Qualifier Tour

  3. By advancing into the main draw via a specific pre-event qualifying tournament

  4. By being ranked #1 (as a team) on the current year Qualifier Tour

  5. A "wild card" invitation can be extended to a team that would not qualify by other means. Based on the discretion of the Competition Director, "wild card" invitations will be awarded to teams whose participation would be considered of value to the Tour or whose unusual circumstances merit special consideration.
