The win ended Hawai'i's two-year reign as 
Outrigger Invitational champions.

UCLA vs. Hawai'i Match Notes:
Game 1 - teams traded blows, Hawai'i enjoyed a slim 11-10 lead. The Bruins scored five straight points to close the game. Waimanalo product Fred Robins came out firing for the Bruins, notching seven of his 12 kills in Game 1.

Game 2 - The Bruins took advantage of sloppy ball handling and six hitting errors for the 'Bows to take Game 2

Game 3 - Hawai'i fell behind quickly in Game 3 but got a spark off the bench from junior Mason Kuo with three kills and an ace.

Bruins finished the match with a .347 hitting percentage.

Hawai'i was led by Andre Breuer with 16 kills and Jorge Alifonso with 15. Dejan Miladinovich added nine kills and 12 digs.

Hawai'i played without senior hitter Naveh Milo who injured a quadriceps muscle in the first game against Penn State, and missed the rest of the tournament.
