NVA ANNOUNCES FOUR-TEAM FIELD FOR MAY 3 & 4 LEAGUE
CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY IN NEBRASKA

UTAH, NEBRASKA, IOWA & COLORADO MAKE NVA SEMI-FINALS

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA -- The National Volleyball Association, Americas's only professional women's indoor volleyball league, is pleased to announce that the 1997 NVA Championship Tournament will be hosted in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4. The announcement was made by Gary Wyma, NVA's Vice President.

"Lincoln is an excellent venue for the NVA to hold its annual league championship tournament," said Wyma, noting that the season opener for the Nebraska Tornados drew a standing-room ony crowd and major media attention for the NVA during its home opener. "We've received tremendous support from the entire Nebraska community throughout the season and we now have the opportunity to reward them by bringing them this important professional championship event."

The 1997 NVA Championship Tournament field will include the Utah Golden Spikers, Nebraska Tornados, Colorado Thunder and Iowa Blizzard. NVA Championship Semi-final competition on Saturday, May 3rd will have the Iowa Blizzard facing the Colorado Thunder at 5:00 p.m. CDT, followed by the Nebraska Tornado and Utah Golden Spikers in the second semi-final match at approximately 7:30 p.m. CDT.

Winners of Saturday's semi-final matches will advance to the National Volleyball Association Championship final on Sunday May 4th at 1:00 p.m. CDT. All three matches will be held at Lincoln Northeast.
